In its background, it is supposed that there exist the conditions that Japanese folklore has had close relation with the nation-state ideology.\nHowever, now it is apparent that Japanese folklore wore ideologism related with the formation of a modern nation-state, and this ideologism has recently been criticized. Therefore there are no more logical grounds to limit the objects of Japanese folklore to “the Japanese” or “Japanese nationality”, and to exclude other people such as “Koreans in Japan” from its objects.\nTaking the above discussion into account, this paper aims to describe life culture of “Koreans in Japan” ethnographically, centering the aspect of living which has not much been dealt with even in other fields of study.\nThe life culture which this paper deals with is the one developed as Pidgin-Creole culture in modern Japanese society, and it is exerted everywhere with ingenuity of “Koreans in Japan” to live in Japanese society. Ingenuity in this case is not too much to say “how to live”, or “surviving techniques”.\nMoreover, this life culture does not adapt itself perfectly to majority Japanese national culture, with which in fact it has connection.
