However, the research to date has not made a sufficient distinction between the Kongobu-ji's bunden / bunbata / zaike-shihai system (system for allocation of payments to monks and other shoen officials) and the annual tributes and levies that should have been paid in respect of that income.\nThis paper starts with an awareness of that issue, and examines the process of construction of and approach taken for the bunden / bunbata / zaike-shihai system for Kongobu-ji's Kinokuni Kanshofu-sho at the end of the 14th Century for the purpose of reconfirming the historical records, and presents the findings as a research note.\nThe largest topic that emerged clearly through the investigations in this paper is that as far as can be seen from the existing historical records relating to the Kanshofu-sho, in the “Repeat of the Daikenchu and associated reconfiguration of the control system” for Kanshofu-sho for the period from Oei 1 to Oei 3 (1394-1396), there is no evidence at all of the Kongobu-ji side having autonomously make nayose-cho census lists for each of the villages. This indicates the possibility that the work of making the nayose-cho was performed by the myoshu and other people.
