江戸図屏風のデジタル画像については，これまで3段階の進展があった。時間順に，ホームページれきはくの江戸図屏風閲覧ページ，人物データベースに向けた画像加工などの試み，絵画資料自在閲覧システムである。このうち第2のものは，これまでに公表していなっかたので，若干の議論とともに，やや詳細に報告した。, Many studies on the folding screen entitled “Edo-zu-byôbu”, which belongs to the National Museum of Japanese History, are performed since the starting of our museum (1981). Edo-zu-byôbu represents the Edo town in 17th century.
We describe a short history of those studies. And, some examples show that they study the Edo-zu-byôbu by means of expanding its photo-images.
Then, there are tree steps to apply digital images: Webpages of Edo-zu-byôbu, an experiment of image processing to build database of men in the pictures, and the free viewing system for research and exhibition of Japanese historical pictures.
