Many of them are writing their thesis with a word processor installed in a PC. The trend of using these kinds of software and electronic devices is expected to grow continuously. In this brief paper, I would like to introduce the examples of PC usage other than the word processor, such as the simple data base construction and the digitization of Edo-era paintings.\nAs for the example of data base construction, I would like to present a method of categorizing Nishikie using the Filemaker Proᵀᴹ. And also, the outline of the digitization of photographs and paintings using the Photo CD, scanners, digital camera and color microfilm are explained.\nIn the explanation of the digitization of documents from Edo-era, I would like to refer not only to the material digitization itself, but also to the digital-tracing method of the drawn lines. In this work, I used the drawing software, the Illustratorᵀᴹ from the Adobe Systems Incorporated.
