People deliberately release pigs onto fields and later slaughter them, and then sell them to obtain cash. This is the case observed in Bosavi who live in Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. This case demonstrates the process; how cash economy is incorporated into the local system. This paper, revealing subsistence ecology of Bosavi including raising pigs, will examine the distinctive features of their pig raising through a comparison with subsistence systems of other groups. At the same time, through analysis of the case, the purpose of this paper is to examine the infiltration of cash economy into subsistence system, on which few studies have been undertaken inspite of having much significance in Ecological Anthropology.\nAs a result, an analysis of criteria that distinguish subjective reasons for selling or not selling a pig has led to the formulation of criteria, whether or not a pig belongs to one's community. By letting pigs “eat field crops” or “turn to be wild”, pigs are classified as existing outside one's community. In Bosavi society, havings strong religious beliefs related to the exchange of food, normatively an owner is not to consume a pig that he has raised. When examining why they sell pigs through such complicated process, there is the fact that Bosavi have nothing else to sell. This means not only that they have no other surplus produce, but also that pigs have been used as exchange before the spread of cash economy. Meanwhile, the use of pigs as exchange has become very popular in recent years, and this has coincided with the spread of cash economy and an increase of outside influences. In conclusion, the infiltration of cash economy and selling pigs have accelerated each other's acceptance, as positive feedback relation.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_heading_23":{"attribute_name":"見出し","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_heading_banner_headline":"[共同研究] 環境利用システムの多様性と生活世界","subitem_heading_language":"ja"},{"subitem_heading_banner_headline":"[Collaborative Research] The Diversity and the Life World of an Environmental Use System","subitem_heading_language":"en"}]},"item_10002_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15024/00001343","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立歴史民俗博物館","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"}]},"item_10002_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"第123集 収録論文 タイトルリスト"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://www.rekihaku.ac.jp/outline/publication/ronbun/ronbun5/index.html#no123","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_10002_source_id_11":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00377607","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0286-7400","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_10002_version_type_20":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"小谷, 真吾","creatorNameLang":"ja"},{"creatorName":"オダニ, シンゴ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Odani, Shingo","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-04-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"kenkyuhokoku_123_05.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"903.5 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"kenkyuhokoku_123_05.pdf","url":"https://rekihaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/1360/files/kenkyuhokoku_123_05.pdf"},"version_id":"2385487f-f93d-40b2-ab9b-5ad5beedbd88"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"ブタはどのようにして現金になりうるのか? : パプアニューギニア高地辺緑部における生業生態と貨幣経済","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"ブタはどのようにして現金になりうるのか? : パプアニューギニア高地辺緑部における生業生態と貨幣経済","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"How Are Pigs Exchanged for Cash? : Subsistence Ecology and Cash Economy in Highlands Fringe Region of Papua New Guinea","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"3","path":["149"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2016-04-01"},"publish_date":"2016-04-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"1360","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["ブタはどのようにして現金になりうるのか? : パプアニューギニア高地辺緑部における生業生態と貨幣経済"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-10-13T04:58:13.593406+00:00"}
