三輪野山貝塚南西部斜面盛土状遺構は，一連の遺構と認識していた遺構が，長期間かけて構築された部分と短時間で構築された部分，休止期間があった。年代測定の結果から休止期間は約300～400年程度であったと考えられる。また，出土した土器片の型式同定結果と木炭の年代測定を比較し，それぞれが示す時期のバラツキが異なることを示した。
浦尻貝塚台ノ前北貝層では，出土土器では大木6式期に貝層の形成が開始し，大木7a式期を主体とすると考えられた。しかし，炭化種子の年代では，土器から予想される年代よりおおよそ1型式ほど新しかった。14C年代測定の結果を加味すると，大木6式期に場の利用が開始されるものの，貝層は大木7b式期を主体とするため，場の利用の変化が起きている可能性を指摘できる。また，較正曲線との関係上大木7b式期は年代推定の幅が広くなるが，貝層がより細かく分層可能であることを生かし，それぞれの層から試料を採取し，その測定結果の傾向と較正曲線とのパターンマッチングを試みることで較正年代の幅を狭めることができる可能性があることを示した。, Radiocarbon dating was carried out at Miwanoyama site, Chiba, Japan and Urajiri site, Fukushima, Japan. Some problems in an estimate of site formation process should be pointed out.
It had been recognized as a successive formation of the southwest bank-like remain of Miwanoyama site. However, the duration turned out to be variable and a dormant period was figured out as well, which lasted about 300 to 400 years according to the radiocarbon dating. Also the typology of potsherd and the radiocarbon date of charcoal both excavated at the bank-like remain indicated different dispersion of site formation period.
As for Dainomaekita shell mound of Urajiri site, it had been recognized that the formation started at Daigi6 stage, and the main stage was Daigi7a according to the pottery typology. However, the radiocarbon date of charred seed showed newer age than expected for about one stage. The usage of the mound might be changed for the main stage of the shell layer turned out to be Daigi7b. Although this stage represents broad calibrated age, more precise estimation might be possible by comparison between the wiggle of calibration curve and radiocarbon dating of fine soil and shell layers.},
