However, when remembering the war dead we should also include not only those who were in, or associated with, the military, but also civilian Japanese who died as a result of the war, the peoples of Taiwan and Korea which were colonized by Japan, and the peoples of the various regions of Asia and the Pacific where the war was fought. There is also a need to examine the remembrance of the spirits (for those who believe in their existence) and remains of individual persons as well as collective memorials.\nWhile on the one hand there are areas on which current research concentrates, there are others which are hardly investigated at all. To form a fuller picture in order to advance discussion on the remembrance of the war dead, it is necessary to undertake research on aspects that have largely been ignored.\nAs part of basic research to achieve this a study was made of the remains of the war dead and the relationship of military cemeteries and tombs through the narratives of war widows 60 years on making use of reports and materials from the “Personal Experience of War, 1931-1945: A Survey of Japanese Written and Oral Records” I-IV 2004 & 2005, published by the National Museum of Japanese History. By looking back at their lives after the passage of 60 years, these widows of men who died in the military or associated occupations speak once more of their lives at around the time of their husbands' deaths and what they felt. However, one unavoidable constraint is the loss of memory and confusion caused by the advanced years of the narrators.\nIt was after Japan's defeat in Guadalcanal in 1943 that the remains of the war dead were no longer returned to their families. This also coincided with the start of the collapse of the system that honored “glorious deaths in war”. Then soon after the war, support for the families of the war dead ceased and public funerals were prohibited. When war widows no longer received the remains of their husbands their attention turned to military cemeteries and monuments to the war dead. They receded into the background and eventually faded from their minds altogether.\nWhile on the one hand this was substituted by portraits of the deceased, Buddhist altars and village or family graveyards where the bereaved could feel close to the deceased, it also created a desire for the spirits of their husbands to be worshipped at Yasukuni Shrine.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_heading_23":{"attribute_name":"見出し","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_heading_banner_headline":"[共同研究] 戦争体験の記録と語りに関する資料論的研究","subitem_heading_language":"ja"},{"subitem_heading_banner_headline":"[Collaborative Research] Personal Experiences of War “1931-1945” A Survey of Japanese Written and Oral Records","subitem_heading_language":"en"}]},"item_10002_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15024/00001633","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立歴史民俗博物館","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"}]},"item_10002_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"第147集 収録論文 タイトルリスト"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://www.rekihaku.ac.jp/outline/publication/ronbun/ronbun6/index.html#no147","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_10002_source_id_11":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00377607","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0286-7400","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_10002_version_type_20":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"横山, 篤夫","creatorNameLang":"ja"},{"creatorName":"ヨコヤマ, アツオ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yokoyama, Atsuo","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-04-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"kenkyuhokoku_147_06.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.8 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"kenkyuhokoku_147_06.pdf","url":"https://rekihaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/1650/files/kenkyuhokoku_147_06.pdf"},"version_id":"02bc29db-8e6a-4ba6-9107-cf24cfc6338b"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"戦没者の遺骨と陸軍墓地 : 夫が戦没した妻たちの60年後の意識から","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"戦没者の遺骨と陸軍墓地 : 夫が戦没した妻たちの60年後の意識から","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"The Remains of the War Dead and Military Cemeteries : From the Viewpoint of War Widows 60 Years On","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"3","path":["173"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2016-04-01"},"publish_date":"2016-04-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"1650","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["戦没者の遺骨と陸軍墓地 : 夫が戦没した妻たちの60年後の意識から"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-08-09T00:58:46.601001+00:00"}
