In particular, a burnt field is a production site that does not depend on a certain species or several kinds of species like a paddy field or an upland field but depends on a diversity of species and a diversity of breeds.\nBurnt fields and their surroundings are sites for long-time experiment on the actions of “protection,” “transplantation,” “admission,” and “avoidance” to sustainably maintain the utilization of plants, which are deeply involved in domestication. In order to make these actions possible, there must be spaces produced by burnt fields themselves with unclear boundaries from nature and practices in the utilization of natural resources of “planted plants” and “grown plants.” Because there are uncertain boundaries, possession of land not immobilized needs to be secured.\nFurthermore, we want to insist that by adopting not a single pattern of livelihood but a parallel, complex pattern of livelihood with paddy fields, burnt fields, hunting, and field work, a more diverse utilization of wild plants will be promoted and there is a strong possibility that a collaborative creative relationship will develop between people and
