The present paper is a preliminary essay which compares and analyzes actual cases concerned with the division of ancestral rites for parents in Japan, concentrating on what is called the division of memorial tablets, in an attempt to clarify the different forms this takes, and their significance, as well as the connection between family and kinship Structures. The practice of the division of memorial tablets is found from Fukushima Prefecture in the north to Takarajima in the Tokara Peninsular, Kagoshima Prefecture, in the south. This range of distribution coincides almost exactly with that of the inkyo family system (Double-unit-type family system), but since only a very few instances of the division of memorial tablets occurs within the distribution area of the inkyo system, there is no direct link between inkyo and the division of memorial tablets.\nThe division of memorial tablets, seen within the framework of memorial tablet rites in Japan, is a form of patrilinealism, and can itself be classified into two types. The first of these is the ‘total separation of honke and bunke’ type, in which ancestral rites are separated over a wide spectrum : memorial tablet rites, annual memorial services and graves are all separate. This form is frequently seen in south-west Kyushu. Contrasting with this is the second type, the ‘honke-dependent’ type, in which the funeral service, memorial tablet rites and annual memorial services are separate, but the grave is shared. This type is commonly seen in the Kinki, Chubu, Kanto and Tohoku districts. The former separates ancestral rites between honke and bunke over a prolonged period of time, while the latter separates the rites for a relatively short time after the death of the parents. The division of memorial tablets does not obstruct the continuity of ancestral rites in the honke, but it is a form of memorial tablet rite that does prevent the honke monopolizing the ancestral rites. The division of memorial tablets is seen in both inkyo bunke and ordinary bunke, but what should be noted about it as a form of bunke is that it is a form that distributes a large portion of fortune to the bunke, and that in villages where the division of memorial tablets occurs, there is a strong tendency for inheritance to be shared equally. The system of separate dwellings for father and mother is not found in all instances of division of memorial tablets, and so cannot be said to be a necessary condition for division of the memorial tablets.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15024/00000681","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立歴史民俗博物館","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"}]},"item_10002_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"第57集 収録論文 タイトルリスト"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://www.rekihaku.ac.jp/outline/publication/ronbun/ronbun3/index.html#no57","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_10002_source_id_11":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00377607","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0286-7400","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_10002_version_type_20":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"上野, 和男","creatorNameLang":"ja"},{"creatorName":"ウエノ, カズオ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Ueno, Kazuo","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-04-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"kenkyuhokoku_057_05.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"3.4 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"kenkyuhokoku_057_05.pdf","url":"https://rekihaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/698/files/kenkyuhokoku_057_05.pdf"},"version_id":"bdae7355-9d2c-4428-aaf7-325e38eedc49"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"父母の祖先祭祀の分割についての一考察 : 分牌祭祀を中心として","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"父母の祖先祭祀の分割についての一考察 : 分牌祭祀を中心として","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"A Study of the Division of Ancestral Rites for Parents : Concentrating on the Division of Memorial Tablets","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"3","path":["89"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2016-04-01"},"publish_date":"2016-04-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"698","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["父母の祖先祭祀の分割についての一考察 : 分牌祭祀を中心として"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-08-14T04:37:58.380681+00:00"}
