@article{oai:rekihaku.repo.nii.ac.jp:00000702, author = {高橋, 照彦 and Takahashi, Teruhiko}, journal = {国立歴史民俗博物館研究報告, Bulletin of the National Museum of Japanese History}, month = {Mar}, note = {application/pdf, 平安時代における緑釉陶器生産地は,大きく畿内・東海・近江・防長の4地域に分かれる。前稿において筆者は防長地域を取り上げたので,緑釉陶器生産の全体像を明らかにするための次の作業として,本稿では近江地域を検討対象とした。本稿の主な検討結果を示すと,以下のようになる。 緑釉陶器窯での併焼品目:現状の資料を見る限り,灰釉陶器は生産されておらず,併焼されているのは須恵器のみである。また,緑釉瓦の生産も認め難い。 製品の特徴:近江産緑釉陶器は技術や形態などの基本的な面では東海産緑釉陶器とほぼ一致していること,その一方で東海産緑釉陶器と比較すると,粗雑化傾向が強く,器形間の区別も不明瞭であるなど,より在地化が進行していること,という2点の特徴にまとめることができる。 器形の模倣対象:主要器種を構成する椀の一形態は,越磁ではなく金属製品を模倣していた点が指摘できる。10世紀以降の緑釉陶器生産においても金属器指向は認められるのであって,平安期の土器様式を「磁器指向」あるいは「磁器型」という一面のみで捉えるべきではなかろう。 技術の系譜:畿内の伝統的技術とは明らかに異質であり,窯体構造を除けばすべて東海系の中で理解できる。作谷窯の窯体構造の成立経緯としては,いくつかの可能性は残されるものの,近江の緑釉陶器工人が近江在地内の瓦生産技術から分焔壁の構造を独自に取り入れ,緑釉陶器専焼にふさわしい形態へと改善させた結果ではないかと推測した。 生産の展開過程:緑釉陶器生産は10世紀前半代に開始し,10世紀後半には現在確認される3支群の窯が併存しつつ操業を行い,11世紀初め頃には終焉を迎ることになる。 製品の流通状況:10世紀前半頃まで畿内産緑釉陶器が主体であった地域において,それ以降近江産緑釉陶器が畿内産に取って代わることになる。そのため,畿内に代わる立場で緑釉陶器を生産することに近江の主な存在理由があったと推測される。 以上のいくつかの検討結果から近江の史的位置を改めてまとめると,技術としては基本的に東海から導入するものの,生産は在地工人が主体となるものであって,その供給先としては畿内産緑釉陶器の位置を継ぐものであった。近江の緑釉陶器生産は,畿内・東海・近江の3者が組み合ったところに存立する生産であり,そこに近江窯成立の素因を見ることができる。, The green-glazed ware, which was goods of higher grade in the Heian period, was produced in four districts; Kinai, Tōkai, Ōmi and Bōchō. In this paper, I re-examine the production in the Ōmi district. The major results are as follows. Other items fired in the green-glazed ware kilns: ash-glazed ware was not produced, and all that was fired together in the kilns was Sueki ware. Also the production of green-glazed roof-tiles cannot be ascertained. Characteristics of the products: the Ōmi ware can be characterized in two points, that the green-glazed ware of Ōmi and Tōkai is much the same in terms of technique, form, and so on; but in comparison with the green-glazed ware of Tōkai, the Ōmi ware takes on more of the local color, and has a stronger tendency to be coarse. Models for the shape of the ware: it can be pointed out that the shape of a certain bowl, which made up the major type of the Ōmi ware, was copied not from Chinese ceramics but from metal products. So imitation of metal ware can also be seen in the green-glazed ware of the 10th century and onwards, and we should not understand that the style of Japanese ceramics and pottery produced in the Heian period was solely modelled on Chinese ceramics. Technical genealogy: techniques of the Ōmi ware is clearly different from that of Kinai, and apart from the structure of the Tsukuriya Kiln it can be understood to be the technigues of the Tōkai. The writer conjectures that the structure of the Tsukuriya kiln was a result that green-glazed ware potters of Ōmi picked up the techniques used for the production of roof-tiles within the Ōmi district and improved them to a style suited to the firing of green-glazed ware. Transition of production: it is almost certain that the production of the Ōmi ware started in the first half of the 10th century, and in the second half of the 10th century the kilns of the three groups recognised today were operated in coexistence and produced on a relatively large scale. Circulation of the product: in the areas where Kinai ware got majolty in consumption of green-glazed ware up to the mid-10th century, the ware dating from after that time was almost all Ōmi ware. For this reason, it is evident that Ōmi played a main role in the production of green-glazed ware as a replacement for Kinai. The historical background of Ōmi in the light of the results given above; while the local craftsmen in Ōmi, basically introduced the technique of green-glazed ware from the Tōkai district, the products of Ōmi took the place in the market of Kinai greenglazed ware. The production of Ōmi green-glazed ware can be understood from the essential elements of Kinai and Tōkai, which are neighbor provinces of Ōmi and made many products in 9th century.
