To this end, the author clarifies the spatial and temporal distributions of different types of the pictorial representations.\nThe Yayoi Period pictorial representations of tattooing are classified into three types : type A where eyes are surrounded by lines; type B where lines originating from the bottom line of the eyes extend diagonally to the lower cheeks; and type C where curved lines extend from the forehead to cheeks. They are commonly found in the middle Yayoi Period, middle to late Yayoi Period, and late Yayoi to early Kofun Period respectively. It is also typologically possible to trace a change from type A to type B and finally to type C. Type A is also found in clay figurines of the early Yayoi Period, which originated from clay figurines of the Jomon Period in eastern Japan.\nA subject of some Yayoi Period pictorial representations of tattooing features a soldier in bird costume. Based on general comparative analogy, tattooing was a part of rite de passage, and it symbolized the status of a soldier and also his identification with a tribe. It is thus possible to speculate that tattooing during the Yayoi Period was an indication that a young man had joined his ancestor's lineage. A soldier in a bird costume would represent his transformation in order to communicate with his ancestor.\nIn the Kinai region of west-central Japan, a practice of tattooing was abandoned toward the end of the middle Yayoi Period and in the late Yayoi Period. This was probably under the influence of Han Chinese culture. After that, the practice of tattooing was restricted to those who did not maintain agriculture for subsistence. Further analyses of tattooing will help us to a better understanding about the dual social structure of the Yayoi society where agriculturalists and hunter-gatherers coexisted.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_heading_23":{"attribute_name":"見出し","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_heading_banner_headline":"装飾古墳の諸問題","subitem_heading_language":"ja"},{"subitem_heading_banner_headline":"Current Issues on Kofun Period Tombs with Decorated Burial Facilities","subitem_heading_language":"en"}]},"item_10002_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15024/00000890","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立歴史民俗博物館","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"}]},"item_10002_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"第80集 収録論文 タイトルリスト"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://www.rekihaku.ac.jp/outline/publication/ronbun/ronbun4/index.html#no80","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_10002_source_id_11":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00377607","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0286-7400","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_10002_version_type_20":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"設楽, 博己","creatorNameLang":"ja"},{"creatorName":"シタラ, ヒロミ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"2513","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Shitara, Hiromi","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"2514","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-04-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"kenkyuhokoku_080_06.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2.5 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"kenkyuhokoku_080_06.pdf","url":"https://rekihaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/907/files/kenkyuhokoku_080_06.pdf"},"version_id":"2261b719-e394-4b9b-bc20-03167e84c6e0"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"黥面土偶から黥面絵画へ","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"黥面土偶から黥面絵画へ","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"From Tattooed Clay Figurines to Pictorial Representations of Tattooing","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"3","path":["109"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2016-04-01"},"publish_date":"2016-04-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"907","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["黥面土偶から黥面絵画へ"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-08-28T04:34:50.206746+00:00"}
