In this cooperative study titled “Collective Research: Provenance Studies of Cultural Properties with Isotope Analysis”, Sakamoto et al. tried to use lead isotopes of alkali feldspar separated from pottery to determine their provenance. In this section, the author will review whether clay minerals, raw material for pottery, meet required conditions for determining their provenance with their lead isotopes based on previous literature.\nAlthough pottery seems to be a more challenging target for provenance study compared with metals, it may be possible to put some constraints.
