It was rather supposed that Man and Nature were interacting with each other. People thought Nature was part of the existence of Man, while Man was part of the Natural activities.\nIt has been thought that community and labor existed in order to realize this relationship between Nature and Man. Labor was not merely considered as a means of production but also as essential for building man's life and maintaining the community. It is, in other words, involved in every interaction with nature.\nWith this viewpoint, this essay explains how Nature and Labor have influenced Japanese history.
