| 内容記述 | 古墳時代の倭と加耶の交流を語る上でもっとも重要な問題の一つである鉄が，弥生時代の両地域間においても重要であったことは，この地が倭で用いられる鉄資源の供給地であったことからも明らかである。本稿は，鉄を媒介とした交流を考えるうえで弥生時代にさかのぼる重要な四つの問題を取り上げた。 まず弥生時代の鉄器の原料であった鉄素材にはどのようなものがあったのかという，鉄素材の種類の問題。第2に鉄素材はどのようにして弥生社会にもたらされたのかという舶載・国産の問題。第3に鉄素材を加工し鉄器を作った施設，すなわち鍛冶炉の問題。第4に鉄器製作技術である。 現在，弥生時代の鉄素材にはいくつかの種類があり，鉄素材ごとに由来，処理する鍛冶炉の構造，鉄器製作工程が異なることが明らかにされている。 なかでもとくに注目されるのが，後期以降の西日本で類例が増えている板状鉄製品である。その化学成分から，韓半島東南部で作られた可能性が指摘されている板状鉄製品は，のちの加耶地域の鉄素材の前身となりうるものとして注目される。以前より論争のある板状鉄斧鉄素材説をめぐる議論が膠着状態におちいるなかで，これらと板状鉄素材との関係について検討した結果，興味深い事実が判明した。 |

| 内容記述 | Iron is one of the most important topics surrounding the interaction between Wa and Gaya in the Kofun period, and it is clear that the reason why iron was important in relations between both regions in the Yayoi period was because both regions supplied iron resources that were used in Wa. This paper examines four issues dating back to the Yayoi period that are important with respect to interaction involving iron. First, there is the question of what types of iron raw materials were used to make iron implements during the Yayoi period. Second, there is the question as to whether iron was brought across to Wa by ship or whether it was made domestically. In other words, how were iron materials introduced into Yayoi society? Third, there is the question of facilities, that is, iron furnaces that were used to process iron to produce iron implements. And fourth, there are the techniques that were used to manufacture iron implements. It is clear today that there were several types of iron materials in use during the Yayoi period, and that the origins of each type of material, structure of iron furnaces and manufacturing processes for making iron implements were all different. Of particular interest are the wrought iron plates, of which similar examples increased in western Japan from the late Yayoi period. These iron materials in plate form, whose chemical constituents indicate they could have been made in the southeast of the Korean Peninsula, are of interest because they may have been the forerunners of iron materials from the Gaya region of a later period. Amid the stalemate that has been reached in the controversy surrounding the long-running debate over the theory that these iron plates were iron adzes, the findings of the investigation outlined in this paper into the relationship between these questions and iron materials in plate form has brought to light some intriguing facts. |
