| 内容記述 | 『松前屏風』は、地元の絵師小玉貞良が蝦夷地の場所を請け負う商人の依頼によって、18世紀半ば頃の松前藩の城下町（福山）の景観を描いたものである。この屏風の読解の1つの試みとして、唯一アイヌの人々が描き込まれている松前来訪の部分に焦点をあててみた。 彼等は毎年5月前後に艤装した船で蝦夷地各場所から貢物を持ってきて、沖の口番所近くの浜辺に、円錐状の丸小屋と呼ばれる持ち運び可能な仮設の住まいを作り、そこに滞在した。屏風にはアイヌの乙名（オトナ、村の長）らが松前藩主に謁見するために、藩士（通詞）に案内されて丸小屋から松前城に向かうところが描かれている。 近世初期、松前城下はアイヌの人々が蝦夷地から盛んにやってきて交易（＝ウイマム）する場であった。1640年代頃より商場知行制が展開してくると、松前の船が蝦夷地に派遣されるようになり、アイヌの城下交易は衰退を余儀なくされた。1669年のシャクシャインの戦い以後、このウイマム交易は松前藩によって御目見儀礼に変質させられ、松前藩の政治的支配の浸透として理解されている。しかし、見方を変えてアイヌ側からこの18世紀の御目見儀礼を捉えるならば、アイヌ側の主体的な意思もまた汲み取ることができるのではないか、というのが本稿の主眼である。 18世紀末になると、松前城下からアイヌの丸小屋の風景が消えていく。それはどのように評価すべきことなのか。おそらくはシャクシャインの戦い以後の近世中期的な松前藩とアイヌの関係の終焉を意味していたに違いない。 |

| 内容記述 | “Matsumae-byobu” is a folding screen depicting a castle town (Fukuyama) in Matsumae-han during mid-eighteenth century. Matsumae painter, Teiryo Kodama drew this screen being asked by Oumi-merchant who was in charge of Ezo trading. In order to understand this screen, I examined the Matsumae arrival section which exclusively depicted Ainu people. Ainu people transported articles of tributes from all parts of Ezochi on a rigged ship every year around May. They built a mobile cone-shaped shack for temporary dwelling and stayed on a beach near the customs office (Okinokuchi-bansho). This shack was a necessity for Ainu people's traveling. On the screen, there is Otona, Ainu's head of village, and others who are guided by Matsumae clansman (translator) to Matsumae castle from their shacks. After entering the castle, they met the lord of Matsumae-han and given products such as rice, liquor and tobacco. During early modern period, Matsumae castle town were often visited by Ainu people from Ezochi for trading called Uimamu. During 1640's trading post fief system (Akinaiba-chikousei) had spread and trading ships from Matsumae were sent to Ezochi. This invited the decline of Ainu trading in the castle town. After the 1669 war of Shakushain, Uimamu trading has been changed into Omemie (Uimamu) audience ritual by Matsumae-han and we understand that this shows political dominance over Ainu. However, when we consider this phenomenon from Ainu's point of view, eighteenth-century Omemie audience ritual may have subjective intention of Ainu people. I will explore this issue in this paper. In the late eighteenth century, Ainu shacks disappear from Matsumae castle town. How do we evaluate this? Probably, this suggests the end of Matsumae-han and Ainu relationships during the eighteenth century. |
