| 内容記述 | 近代日本の文化財保護制度の歴史的変遷を見ていくと，保護する対象が次第に拡大していっているのがわかる。戦後の文化財保護法（1950年）においても，年を追うごとに文化財の種類が増え，2008年現在では，戦前の国宝保存法（1929年）と史蹟名勝天然紀念物保存法（1919年）の保護対象だった有形文化財，記念物の他に，無形文化財や有形無形の民俗文化財，伝統的建造物群，文化的景観が創設されている。ここまで対象が拡大すると，理念上はすべての過去と繋がるものが文化財として見なされうるわけであり，まるで「総文化財化」とでもいえるような様相を呈している。 さらに文化財保護制度の変遷を追っていくと，このような保護対象の変化の他に，保護の在り方にも多様な変化が見られる。その中で本稿が注目し，考察するのは，文化財の単体保存―いわば「点」としての保存から，文化財を取り囲む一定の空間を一纏まりのものとしてまるごと保護の対象にしていこうとする動き―いうなれば「面」としての保存および保全に至るまでの歴史的展開である。そしてそれは，文化財としての保存から文化資源としての活用あるいは開発へという，近年急速に進んでいる動きの考察でもある。 |

| 内容記述 | The historical transition of the cultural properties protection system in modern Japan shows the gradual expansion of the range of cultural properties to be protected.The types of cultural properties were increased year by year also in the postwar the Act for the Protection of Cultural Properties ( 1950) . As of the year 2008, intangible cultural properties, tangible/intangible folk cultural properties, groups of traditional buildings, and cultural landscapes were newly designated as cultural properties to be protected in addition to tangible cultural properties and monuments designated as cultural properties to be protected in the prewar the Act for the Preservation of National Treasures ( 1929) and the Act for the Preservation of Historic Sites, Places of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monuments ( 1919) ． The expansion of the range of cultural properties to this degree suggests that all connected to the past may be considered as cultural properties in principle assuming the aspect as if “all are cultural properties”. Aside from such change of the range of cultural properties to be protected, various changes can be observed also in the protection methods when tracing the history of the cultural properties protection system. Among those changes, this article focuses on and studies the historical transition from the preservation of each cultural property, or the preservation as a “point”, to the movement aiming to protect a certain place surrounding cultural properties as a whole, or the preservation and conservation as a “space”. It is also the study of the movement progressing rapidly in recent years from the preservation as cultural properties to the utilization or the development as cultural resources. |
