| 内容記述 | 本稿は奈良県天理市荒蒔の秋祭を対象にした調査報告である。この儀礼はかなり安定した形式を維持しているかのようであるが、じつのところ社会的かつ経済的な環境の変動にともなって少なからず変化してきた。それじたいはけっして異彩を放つものではないものの、随所に歴史が刻印されていることには、やはり大きな注意をはらっておかなければならない。本稿ではこうした認識にもとづきながら、一九九一年におこなわれた荒蒔の秋祭についてくわしく報告している。 そのばあい、主要な関心は現在の秋祭を記録するところにむけられる。すなわち、一九九一年という「調査時現在」における調査報告を提示することによって、幾多の変遷を経てきたにちがいない秋祭の現在を変化の相に照らして微視的に記述しようというのがねらいである。その結果として、近代化の過程にさらされてある荒蒔という集落の現在が浮かびあがってくるのではないだろうか。 ところで、秋祭は荒蒔に数多く伝承されている儀礼のうちでも最もよく保存されており、住民の意識を顕在化させる重要な媒体であるように思われる。そこで本稿では、秋祭にかかわる人々の、意識における変化についていささか論述している。具体的には、秋祭に組みこまれている奇妙な笑いの作法とそれにまつわっておこなわれる（おこなわれない）説明にそくしながら、本来的に言語化されない、つまり意味に回収されることをこばむものとしてある笑いを説明するためにさまざまな知識が動員される可能性を強調するとともに、笑いにまつわる説明が急速に世俗化しつつある現状を指摘したのであった。 いずれにしても、儀礼という形式的行動に対する説明の所在は、今日でも微妙に揺れ続けている。したがって、眼前にある荒蒔の秋祭がかなり安定した形式を維持していたとしても、やはり黙してとおりすぎてしまうわけにはいかなかったのである。 |

| 内容記述 | This paper is a report of an investigation into the autumn festival at Aramaki, Tenri City, Nara Prefecture. This festival seems to have maintained a fairly stable form, but in fact, it has changed to some degree in accordance with changes in the social and economic environment. The festival itself in no way stands out prominently, but we should pay a great deal of attention to the fact that history has been engraved on this festival at every turn. This paper reports on the autumn festival held in 1991, based on this perception. The main interest is focused on the recording of the present autumn festival. In other words, by preparing the report of the investigation as of “the present”, that is, in 1991, I aim to describe the present autumn festival, which has surely experienced various transitions, this is done microscopically, referring to various phases of its transition. As a result, perhaps we will be able to observe the present situation of the village of Aramaki as it is exposed to the process of modernization. Now, of the many rites handed down in Aramaki, the autumn festival is one of the best maintained, and seems to be an important medium in bringing into the open the residents' consciousness. Therefore, this paper describes the changes in consciousness of the people involved in this autumn festival. Specifically, based on the strange manners regarding laughter incorporated into this autumn festival, and explanations given (or not given) concerning the manner. I emphasize the possibility of mobilizing various kinds of knowledge to explain a laughter which was not originally verbalized, or which resists being collected into meaning. I also point out the present situation in which explanation of laughter is rapidly being secularized. In any case, an explanation of formal actions in the form of a rite still continues to be subtlety shifting. Therefore, even if the autumn festival at Aramaki before us does maintain a fairly stable style, I could not ignore it in silence. |
