| 内容記述 | 近年つくられた多くの歴史系博物館ではレプリカ資料の使用が盛行しているが，それが博物館において「何」であり，いかなる形で用いることができるのかについては十分な共通理解のないのが現状である。本稿はこれについて主に技術的な面からその性格と限界を明らかにし，それによって，レプリカ資料が研究に，また展示においてどのように用いることが可能かを考察した。レプリカは原品の持つ情報の一部のみを転写したものだが，その転写は，どの様な技法の場合でも製作者の主観にかなりの程度頼る方法で行なわれており，厳密な客観性が保証されているとは言えない。従ってレプリカは研究資料としては写本の一つとして，また展示では特定のシナリオの中においてのみその正当性を主張し得る。またレプリカの製作は，それ自体が資料研究の行為と位置付けることができる。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | In many history museums established recently, replica materials are used extensively. However, at the present stage, there is no satisfactory common understanding on “what” replicas are to the museum, and in what form they can be used. This paper clarifies the nature and limits of replicas mainly from the technical aspect, and examines how they can be used in research and in exhibition. Only part of the information of the original material is copied into a replica. Nevertheless, at whatever technical method may be adopted, copying is carried out to a considerable extent in a manner depending on the subjective impressions of the producer, and thus it cannot be said that strict objectivity is guaranteed. Therefore, a replica may be justifiable only when it is used as a copy, or in the context of a particular scenario in exhibition. The production of a replica in itself can be ranked as a part of material research. | |||||||||||
