| 内容記述 | 本稿は，映像メディアにおける「民俗」の表象と受容について議論し，「民俗メディア論」への視座を構築するための予備的な作業を行うことを目的としている。ここでの議論は大きく分けて４つの手順を踏むことになる。 まず，「民俗」の錯綜状況を理解するために，地域の祭りと生業を取材した，あるテレビ番組に焦点をあてる。番組で表象される「民俗的なるもの」についての検証を行うことで，そこでの表象の修辞法と現地との乖離を指摘する。これらの記述は，「民俗」を継承しているはずの地域社会が，現代のメディア網の直中に配置されている状況を明確にするだろう。次に地域を自立的な固有のシステムとみなす基本的な視座に異議を唱える。それらが民俗学的なまなざしと根深い共犯関係にあることを考慮しつつ，それとは別の視点を示唆する糸口として，これまでの地域社会の表象からは捨象されてきた地域外部との有機的な結びつきや，そこでの重層的な経験を統合していく主体の柔軟性に注目する。 そのうえで地域の人々による映像メディア（やその取材）の「受容」の問題について考えていく。ここでいう「受容」とは，番組の視聴率やその全体的な評価を意味しない。そこにはすでに番組を一貫した作品として固定し，情報がどの程度「正確に」伝達されているかを確定しようとする視点が内在している。むしろ，彼らの生活の一局面で享受される番組のあり方や，日常的な会話やうわさのレベルで浮上する番組の位置付けに注目する。最後に，より今日的な課題として，マスメディアと地域との相互交渉の問題に注目する。そこでは地域の側が発信するインターネットの中での「民俗」の生成を指摘しつつ，それらとマスメディアとの重層的な関係性について検証していきたい。 |

| 内容記述 | This paper aims to discuss the representation of “folkways” by the audiovisual media and to construct a point of view to help future discussion of media complex in “folk society”. There are four steps of procedure here. First, in order to understand the complicated situation of “folkways”, it focuses on a television program which has collected materials on a festival and subsistence of a community. The paper verifies “folk material” represented in the program and it points out that the rhetoric of representation is alienated from the field. This illuminates how a local community which is supposed to have succeeded to “folkways”, is disposed in the midst of the modern media complex. Secondly, I interposes an objection to the fundamental view that regards a community as an independent individual system. This view has been shared with classical folklorists and mass media. Taking this into account, in order to suggest another viewpoint, the author pays attention to relation between local community and the outside which has been absent in the representation by media, and to the subjective flexibility in unifying all levels of activity which affect the community. Thirdly, the issue of “reception” of such audiovisual media (including collection of materials) by represented people themselves is considered. “Reception” in this context does not mean an audience rating or general evaluation, as it presupposes coherence of the content of works and proposes to confirm how “accurately” the information is transmitted. But rather, the paper examines “reception” by focusing on how a program is enjoyed in one phase of life or evaluated on the level of daily conversation and casual talk. Finally, mutual negotiations between mass media and communities are discussed. “Folkways” are also being formed on internet sent from community side, and the community's stratified relationship with mass media should be verified. |
