| 内容記述 | 日本民俗学の資料である伝承そのものは，資料として批判することが困難である。それというのも，伝承資料自体の持つ性格と，伝承を取り出す際の調査者の意図や，調査者と伝承保持者との人間関係など，さまざまな因子に影響を受けるからである。フィールドワークを土台とする学問でありながら，資料論や調査論の深化が阻まれていたことは不幸であり，その改善に向けての具体策を模索していくべきである。 伝承資料を批判することは，伝承資料の取り扱い方と，それを得る調査の現場を検証することに他ならない。 本稿では，まず，「調査地被害考」を手がかりとして，その考え方の背景にある民俗調査観を批判し，その調査観に基づく調査を「黒子調査」と規定する。そして，「黒子調査」の功罪を，伝承資料の今後の民俗調査・研究にいかに活かすかについて，以下の２点を提言した。 ①伝承を（歴史）事実ではなく解釈とする見方を徹底することで，これまで集められた膨大な資料ストックを再検討し，伝承の成立やプロセスの意味を考察し，現在につながる生活文化の再構成を目指す。 ②調査地や被調査者と積極的に関与していくフィールドワークとそれに基づく事業を進める過程で，発生する地域からの様々なリアクションを分析対象に取り込むことにより，フィールドワークの方法論的蓄積と伝承資料批判についての用意を図る。 |

| 内容記述 | In Japan, traditions which folklore deals with as materials are difficult to criricize as they are, because they are influenced by various factors. These factors include original character of a folk material itself, researcher's intention when he or she picks up a tradition, relationship between a researcher and an informant, etc. Folklore is the study based on fieldwork, and yet the theory of source criticism or that of research method has not been deepened. It is an unfortunate situation and we should try to find concrete measure to improve the situation. To criticize folk materials is nothing but to verify both the treatment of materials and the field where materials are obtained. In this paper, the author criticizes a viewpoint of fieldwork with a help of “A Study of the Suffered Field”. Fieldwork based on this viewpoint is prescribed as “kuroko fieldwork”. The following two points are suggested how we can make the most of merits and demerits of this type of fieldwork in future fieldwork of folklore. (i) Tradition is not a history but an interpretation. This point of view should be penetrated, in which extensive materials that have been collected should be reconsidered. We aim to study establishment of tradition or its forming process, and also to reconstruct living culture until now. (ii) We should positively concern with the field and informants, and develop a way topolicy science in a sense. Analyzing various reactions in the course of running research projects, we should plan to accumulate know-how including folk materials. At the same time, we should try to critically verify the projects themselves. |
