| 内容記述 | 日本の寺院・神社の建築には，装飾の一環として各種の塗装・彩色がされている。何色のどんな顔料がどのような組合わせで塗られているのか，それは建築の種類によって，あるいは時代によってどう違うのか，また，建築群全体としてはどのように構成され配置されているのだろうか。これらの点について，古代・中世はおもに絵画資料により，近世は建築遺例により時代を追って概観し，あわせて日本人の建築に対する色彩感覚にもふれてみたい。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | The building of Japanese temples and shrines are given various coatings and colorings as a part of their ornamentation. How many colors and what kinds of pigments did they use? How did they combine such colors and pigments? How great are the differences in colors and pigments between the kinds of architecture or the periods when they were built? How are the colors arranged among the neighboring buildings on the same site? I will survey the above issues by tracing their development, mainly through picture materials in ancient times (generally, Nara and Heian period, but sometimes including Yamato Court period) and in the middle ages (Kamakura, Muromachi and Azuchi-Momoyama periods) and through remaining buildings in the modern ages (Edo period). Also, I would like to discuss, I survey the Japanese feeling for color in architecture. | |||||||||||
